We've just started Mallee on solids. I thought we'd be rather clever and do the 'baby led solids' thing. (For non baby info obsessives this basically means trusting bub to know what and how much they want. Cut veges, cook and stand back as the mess erupts). Thing is, Mallee was more interested in sucking the bowl than doing anything with the food inside. I guess he's watched us playing with these hard, round objects and hasn't quite worked out that cups and bowls are the means, not the end. Put a glass near him and his tongue instantly adheres to it like a little sea slug.
Ev, Mallee and I went to Anna and Dave's wedding at Jenolan Caves. The setting was gorgeous and it was a really relaxing, fun wedding. Some of the kids officiated as flower girls. Mallee was a bit young for that but we made a little ivy crown for him while the girls were making theirs. A hippy paisley mu-mu competed the look.
I don't blog – too personal, too public, too not me. But I thought I'd give it a go. For the sake of something to do while Mallee sleeps and a way of processing my day's experiences, if nothing else. Perhaps Ev could get a glimpse of how we're both doing while he's clamped to his computer, being a wage slave. (Hi lovely!) But really, I'm not at all concerned if no-one but me reads this.
I suppose I've only got myself to blame. I did invent the baby nickname 'Moo' (a.k.a 'Mr Moo', 'The Moo', and occasionally, 'Mr Mallee Moo') after all. This cow-print bonanza includes Moo top, Moo pants, Moo booties and Moo hat. Thank you to Toria, who obviously shares her eye for cute and her sense of humour with her older brother. Ev thinks it's the best thing ever. Ok, Ev if you dress him in comedy themed outfits, I can dress him in grandma knitted op-shopped jumpers and cardigans. Deal?
